Silicon Europe for S3
On behalf of the Silicon Europe Alliance, we plan to create an ESCP for S3 in the area of the KET micro- nanoelectronics, aiming at
- creating regional and European-wide strong links to other KETs such as ICT, Advanced manufacturing or Photonics
- creating strong regional digital hubs that can compete globally
- enabling new value networks towards application fields related to digitalisation of classical industries
- fostering the development of smart systems, connecting hard- and software and enabling a reliable, secure and energy-efficient Internet of Things
- facilitating business creation by establishing start-ups and supporting growth of SMEs
Supporting Smart Specialisation is one of the five strategic themes of the Joint Action Plan of the Silicon Europe Alliance that was established in 2015 and currently consists of 12 clusters and more than 2000 respective cluster members from all over Europe.
Requirement for participation is one of the following or comparable priorities within the regional Smart Specialisation Strategy which should relate to the EU priorities “KET” or “Digital Agenda”

- ICT & digital communication
- Digital technologies & user-friendly systems
- Micro- and nano-electronics and embedded systems, mechatronics - part of 'Smart systems'
