Cluster organisation
Register as a cluster organisation
This profile is for cluster organisations. Before completing this profile, we invite you to check the definitions of clusters and cluster organisations we apply. Please note that if you are based in an EU/COSME country then we will use these definitions to validate your profile. Please fill in the country field first, as profile fields differ for cluster organisations in EU/COSME countries and other countries.
The publishing of the profile is subject to validation by the ECCP team, although the validation criteria can be waived for cluster organisations that are officially recognised by regional/national cluster policy programmes or are recognised as social economy clusters by the European Commission (DG GROW).
Validation criteria for Register as a cluster organisation
- Dedicated cluster management organisation/team with at least 0.5 FTE (Full Time Equivalent)
- Link to the English version of the organisation’s website. Automatically translated websites are also considered valid. The validation team will look for consistency as regards the information provided on the profile and on the website and check proof that the organisation is actively operating (activities, services provided to members, common projects, recent newsletters, etc.)
- A minimum of 15 clearly committed cluster members (such as businesses, research actors, public authorities, etc.)
- Presence of the triple helix approach within the cluster’s member composition. It is mandatory for the member composition of the cluster organisation to have a diversity of at least 2 types of members (e.g., industry, research actors/universities, civil society bodies, public bodies, etc.). If the cluster organisation does not have public bodies as members, it should be visible that there is a collaborative approach between the cluster organisation and public bodies (e.g., the cluster organisation is supported by public bodies, funded via a programme, or has a mandate to perform activities of overarching interest for the industrial cluster, etc.).
- The thematic (technical or sectoral) focus of the cluster organisation should be clear.
- The cluster organisation should offer at least 2 different types of cluster-specific activities, and these should be reflected in the organisation’s website or service offer.
