Finnish manufacturer sees the light

• Campaign to replace lighting with energy efficient LEDs pays off
• Apart from cost savings, the measure improves work safety, comfort, and efficiency

Rakennusbetoni- ja Elementti Oy manufactures special building elements from concrete and sells them to builders in Finland and nearby areas. Hollolan Sora Oy and Mikrobetoni Oy belong to the group, employing 80 people directly and more indirectly via partners. The company’s industrial premises are situated in industrial parks in Kukonkoivu (Hollola) and Kolava (Lahti) respectively. The warm surface area in factories covers nearly 18 000 m2 corresponding to the area of two football fields.

Adaptation of LED lighting in one of the largest production halls (7 500 m2) has brought the company energy savings and a smaller electricity bill than before but also many other benefits including work safety and comfort in factories. LED lighting has also been installed in the most recent build production hall.
