From October 31 to November 4, representatives from Silicon Saxony and its members, GTAI (Germany Trade and Invest) and the Saxony Economic Development Corporation (WFS) visited the Taiwanese cities Hsinchu and Tainan. The purpose of the trip was to inform Taiwanese companies and institutions about the region of Saxony and to arouse their interest in the high-tech site.

Following a briefing session regarding the bilateral economic relationship and the Taiwanese industry landscape organized by the German Chamber of Commerce, the delegation participated in several B2B and investor meetings. Moreover, technical developments concerning IoT and Smart Manufacturing were discussed and the participants visited the production sites of big Taiwanese players such as TSMC and UMC as well as the Taiwanese research institute ITRI and the Metal Industry Research & Development Center (MIRDC) to foster relationships.
