European AI regulation is on the way. Members of European DIGITAL SME Alliance’s Task Force AI & Standards contributed to a new position paper, outlining concerns that the current proposal could burden innovative European SMEs. The complex and costly conformity assessment process described in the #AIAct might push innovative solutions out of the market, while placing a lot of responsibilities in the hands of standardization bodies in which SMEs are under-represented.
