The E3CN initiative, “Strategies of nZEB”, has launched a comprehensive guide for designers, builders and developers, in order to give them a tool to address the challenge posed by these buildings, mandatory in new construction and integral refurbishment in Spain from December 31, 2018 for the Public Administration and two years later for all new buildings.

The handbook collects the regulations related to this type of buildings, aiming at being practical and useful over all. It contains both design solutions and very detailed information of the construction phase, including a study of costs that compares NZEB costs with those of conventional buildings. At the end of the manual, national and international NZEB examples are included. All these cases can be accessed through an interactive map in our website, which will be updated and expanded progressively.
