Record-time emergency ventilator manuals from Aalborg University
Five researchers from Aalborg University have developed an emergency ventilator made from just about 25 industrial components. Unlike larger respirators with more complex structures and individual parts, the newly developed emergency respirator follows a simpler manufacturing process with previously used or easily accessible components.
The researchers behind the project have already released all relevant information, including software and hardware descriptions and have received approval from Danish Heatlh Authorities. Therefore, researchers and manufacturers from other countries can use the material to further develop and start producing the much-needed emergency ventilators for COVID-19 patients.
The five Danish researchers behind the project are Lars Pilgaard Thomsen, Mathias Krogh Poulsen, John Hansen, Stephen Edward Rees and Dan Stiber Karbing.
You can find the Danish newspaper article about the project here. For further information, please check Aalborg University website.
